Sarah Dessen has created another enjoyable read for the young adult. Auden lives with her mother. Her parents are divorced and dad has remarried with a much younger wife who is now expecting their first child. Auden's older brother is traveling through Europe living off his parents and has never been anything more than the apple of their eyes with no responsibilities. Auden has been the adult even as a child. Perfect student, in an exclusive school aimed at classic over-achievers. Auden even understands when her date for the Prom ditches her in order to attend a prestigious conference instead. Everything her mother wanted her to be, no surprises. One day her brother's "girlfriend" brings her a graduation gift. Its a picture of him in front of the Taj Majhal. The frame says "the Best of Times" and Auden wonders has she had any of them yet? So Auden decides to stay with her Dad and his new family for her summer before college, it's her chance for the best of times. While Auden is an A student academically, socially she is an "incomplete". Auden works at the boutique her stepmother runs, and helps out with her new sister. She realizes things about her self, her father and her mother when she's doing the books. Auden doesn't sleep at night so she continues her night time expeditions in town. She meets Eli, the girls and even when things aren't going the way she expected, Auden may just have her "Best of Times". Worst name of a baby ever is included in this story, Thisby! Most uninvolved father, aloof, elitist mother and maybe a brother who knows more and cares more than Auden knows. So what about the bike?
