Hi, I'm new to the forum, great info on here.

However, after reading through I'm still not sure about a few things.
I have a 6300 that is sim locked to vodafone. I wanted to know a little about how the the sim lock is stored, ie, if I was to change the product id to that of say an Optus locked firmware, could I flash the phone with that and replace the sim lock (I'm assuming I can't flash an unlocked firmware to remove it)

It currently has 0559810: RM-217 6300 APAC-T LAT OPV_VODA SIM, All Black

I'm aware that APAC is asia pacific, but can anyone tell me what the -T part means, as there is a wide range of APAC-, and I'm unsure which other firmware would be suitable.

I did buy a sim unlocking card from ebay, but unfortunately doesn't work in this phone. Has anyone tried one successfully in this phone?

Just thought I'd add some info, I did a second firmware downgrade to 6.60 and that appears to work with the sim unlocker card.

Guess that will do for now.
