hi friends,

A friend of mine gifted me a iphone 3g 8gb.
everything was working fine except it had some porn games installed on it that i really wanted to get rid of so i planned to reset the phone to factory settings and choose the option to erase all data as well.
After the reset was completed the phone freezed on the apple logo. i connected the phone to itunes and reinstalled the ios 4.2 on it. everything went smooth but now the phone is carrier locked and is asking for a valid sim to unlock it.
i searched for the procedure to unlock the phone but i need to know the baseband for my phone, which ofcourse i dont know. Right now the only screen it shows is a screen with a usb cable image or a keypad to dial emergency phone nos only.

i need help with these things.
1. How to unlock or jailbreak the phone if i dont know the baseband.
2. i need to unlock the phone so that it excepts all the SIM cards in INDIA.

Any help in any regards will be appreciated.
