Sygic 8.24 MapMyIndia v6 - Problems opening on Symbian Belle

Dear Friends,

I had been using Sygic 8.24 Mapmyindia v6.0 on my Nokia C7 for quite some time and it used to work like charm with the Nokia OS version was Symbian Anna. Used it without any issues on long trips in south india and within the city i reside.

As recently Symbian belle has been rolled out in India as update using PC, i had accordingly updated the same. To my surprise after the update when I try to open Sygic MMI, it shows the initial initialisation screen screen for couple of MINUTES and then closes itself out.

Do any of you are also facing the same issue on Symbian Belle? If anyone of you have found the cause or workaround to make it working, really would be thankful if you could share the same. I really like to have Sygic working again as i rely heavily on it for my trips and sometimes to navigating to parts of city i have never been or not sure of.

even i had paid version of 6 .. now updated my E7 to belle.. now Sygic doesn't work.. Sygic Aura works perfect on Belle but no India maps available for Aura

use Nokia Maps Suite 2.. u wil not miss Sygic

FOund the following link in Sygic Support for Symbian Devices...I guess there are some issues around Sygic with belle which Sygic is already looking into...

So till a fix is given by Sygic, we are stuck with not using Sygic with Symbian Belle

After followups from Sygic and MapMyIndia following are the updates, hence users on this forum possibly can go through these and accordingly decide if they want to invest into MapMyIndia Navigation software / Satguide GPS Navigation for Symbian or not

(a) MayMyIndia Navigation for symbian is supported by MapMyIndia onlyfor Symbian OS which are less than Symbian Anna

Based on my email communications with the MapMyIndia support team i have been told, MayMyIndia Officially supports only the version which are less than Symbain Anna i.e. upto Symbian^3.
But based on my experience i have found MayMyIndia works fine upto Symbian Anna, but after upgrading to Symbian Belle, it stops working and you will be stuck with a software which you cannot use and which doesnot have any support. So you as a user can decide if you would like to upgrade Symbian OS or loose MayMyIndia working.
So, incase you have your mobile device which is on Symbian Belle and looking for navigation software, MayMyIndia is not the one for you. Better check the other software. I personally had to send email after email constantly to get my refund in this case.

(a) Sygic GPS Navigation has stopped development work on Symbian - Hence no support for Symbian Belle or future symbian releases

I got in touch with Sygic also for issue faced on Symbian Belle with MayMyIndia. They have told that they have stopped development activities on Symbian GPS navigation. So no support from their side for Symbian Belle or any future versions.

Symbian GPS navigation version works with Symbian Belle, but it only has Europe maps. Hence no support or plans for releasing India maps in future.

So Symbian Mobile users in India, Sygic is not for you incsae you have Symbian^3 or above softwares with you.

(c) SATGUIDE GPS Navigation for symbian is not supported for Symbian Touchscreen devices

Personally i had tried Satguide GPS Navigation also, but it doesnot work on Symbian Belle also. Satguide customer care told me that Symbian Touchscreen devices are not supported. So again incase you are Symbian^3 or above, do not buy SATGUIDE GPS Navigation software.
I am not aware if Satguide works on S60V5 touchscreen devices or not.

I hope you guys on this forum will find the above information useful and accordingly invest into the Navigation softwares.

Currently i am struggling with Nokia Drive for india maps, but it is not the same class as in MapMyIndia. Any suggestions anyone...
