This one is Free in the store - what makes this one "paid" - is there cash store items that are unlocked?

The only one need to paid is Gun Strike XperiaPlay, if this apk isn't that version so it's is free, btw i don't see any cash store items, this game is pretty easy, just play till you get enough money to buy M249 SAW then other map just a piece of cake.
