As usual, with every iOS update, the jailbreak community reacts very quickly. The freedom offered by a jailbroken iPhone or iPod Touch feels so much better and more free than the stock iDevice experience without a jailbreak.

Thanks to the iPhone Dev Team's recently updated Redsn0w, you can jailbreak your iPhone, or iPod Touch. The only drawback is that it only works with a pre-A5 chip iPhone or iPod Touch. According to Redmond Pie, the tethered jailbreak is possible with Redsn0w, but is limited to devices susceptible to the Limera1n exploit, which makes the iPad and the iPhone 5, as well as the brand new iPod Touch, cut from the list. Only for now however.
In addition, the jailbreak also seems to be compatible with theiOS 6.1 beta release; you just need to download the latest version of Redsn0w.
The jailbreak process is relatively simple, yet as noted above, it is only compatible with iOS A4 iDevices or lower. Check out our tutorial for how to jailbreak iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch running the new iOS 6 updates.
