I see the free voucher but when I proceed to checkout it pops up a message "No connection"

Does this have something to do with HTC and the S-ON?

Try to restore your default "hosts" file.

This 'Freedom' App is a piece of "crap" and modifies the Hosts file located in system/etc and adds unknown entries which results in problems mentioned in the threads above.

Edit the Hosts file in a text editor through Root Explorer and remove all lines except the one referring to 127.0.0.1 - Local Hosts. Also check that Hosts file has rw-r-r and root-root permissions applied. Then reboot phone. Everything will be Ok.
