How To Upgrade Firmware Offline Or Flash Dead Phones Using Phoenix Or JAF Service Suite

    Using JAF See Post 2

This tutorial can b used to flashing of dead phones.

BTW, this works for XP n Vista, x86 or x 64!!!

    Tools Required:
    1.Phoenix Service 2012 suite:
    http://www.mobilephonetalk.com/showt...d-amp-Original

    2.Navifirm:
    http://www.mobilephonetalk.com/showt...Codes-amp-More

    Before Flashing:

    - backup your phone number and phone number of important personal information. If you want a clean installation, format your E: drive as well using the built in Nokia file manager .

    Lets Start??.

    ->Run Phoenix Service Software installer.

    >Start Installing Phoenix

-> Now (the boring part) run Navifirm (it takes an hour or more to download the whole patch)?

Note: the reason i don?t use the builtin image downloader because it downloads older versions, from my experience.

After the files downloaded, copy them to C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-XXX\
XXX - use your product code

    ->Now Run Phoenix 2009

[if you have dead phone use Dead Phones Flash? To being able to tick dead phone flash delete the usb connection in phoenix. then make it go into "no connection". then open the rm-xxx. the dead usb flashing will now be enabled.]

->Turn on the phone (it will start in offline mode because there is no SIM card inside).
->Plug in the USB cable to both the phone and the computer.
->When prompted, select ?PC Suite? from the menu list on the phone.
->Wait for *all* drivers to fully install themselves before proceeding. You will see the driver icon disappear when it is complete.

-> Now Choose File Then Manage Connection

    ->###### ?New?

->###### USB, and then ###### Next

->It will then search your USB ports for the phone. When it finds it, hit Finish

->Once it has finished scanning, ###### apply, then ###### close.

->Next, select ?Scan Product? from the File menu.

-> Once finished scanning, you can see your model of phone and other details at the bottom screen.

->From the Flashing menu, choose Firmware Update.

->Wait for Phoenix to continue talking to the phone. You will see some information scroll by in the firmware Update window.
    ->###### Browse

->See the product code section.U should find ur product code in that column. If u see ?ur? product code, well and good.

-> but if u dont see ur code,or dont see anything for that matters, press on the ??? in the given prCode section.
You should see RMxxx-blabla, select that. Variant version =00. I will select ?Refurbish? so that it will restore it to factory set (Clean and default C.

    ->Press Start

Ignore the warning and click YES

The flashing process takes about five minutes to complete. The first few steps ensure connectivity to the phone.
After it verifies connectivity,Phoenix will automatically restart the phone.

Once it has completed (a dialog box will popup saying it has completed successfully), you may close Phoenix,
unplug the USB cable, and restart your phone. It should startup with the firmware you flashed to it.

How To Flash Dead Phones Using JAF Service Suite

some people having dead phone for using PHOENIX And that happens because the ADL server checks the CRC after the firmware upgrade, which won't match because you cooked your firmware files and will cause the boot-loader not to change back to normal operating mode. So DO NOT USE PHOENIX when upgrading CORE, ROFS2, ROFS3 cooked files, use JAF only...

    INSTALLING AND SETTING UP JAF

    1. Download this file
    http://depositfiles.com/files/u1rwi536v
[Thats Include All File You Need]
    2. UNRAR the file to your desktop
    3. open the folder
    4. install JAFSetup_1.98.62.exe
    5. install JAF to the default location

Note on you only have to do "this" if you are using Vista, Windows 2003/2008 server. or Windows 7
    Code:
    A. Right click on "OGM_JAF_PKEY_Emulator_v 5.exe"
    B. scroll down to "Properties", left click on "Properties"
    C. Left click the "Compatibility" at the top of the popup window.
    D. "CHECK" run this program in "Compatibility" mode
    E. In the select box. select "Windows XP" or Windows XP SP?
    F. left click "APPLY", then left click "OK"
GETTING YOUR FIRMWARE DOWNLOAD AND READY FOR FLASHING

    1. go to "C:\Program Files\Nokia".
    2. create a folder called "Phoenix" > C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix
    3. open C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix
    4. create a folder called "Products" > C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products
    5. open C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products
    6. create a folder with phones ROM VERSION > RM-xxx, C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-xxx
    7. open C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-xxx, leave it open. xxx - your Rm version
    8. go here http://www.symbiantalk.net/showthrea...uct-codes-more
10 download your firmware using "navifirm.exe"

    11. save your firmware to > C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-xxx

    Note...

RM-xxx will be different depending on your country or region (IE, RM-505, RM-555, etc...)

USING JAF TO INSTALL COOKED ROMS

12)Install Nokia pc suite if you dont have it installed already (Cable Drivers Are installed with them and needed)

    1. from main "jaf" folder.
    3.click on "OGM_JAF_PKEY_Emulator_v 5.exe" then Click Go

    4. JAF gets loaded
    6. in JAF left click the BB5 tab
    7. under "Flash Settings"...

    A. uncheck "CRT 308"
    B. check "Manual Flash" "Dead USB"
    C. check "Normal Mode"
    D. check "Use INI"

    8. Wait for INI popup window to open.
[Then a list will appear containing all phone models like the picture below]

    9. scroll down to your USB FIRMWARE CABLE TYPE
    10. Select firmware type (RM-???)

If JAF doesn't find the RM-xxx, just add the following two lines to the end of the file jaf_nok4models.ini (normally found in C:\Program Files\ODEON\JAF\):
    Code:
[RM-xxx]Description=Nokia X6 CABLE [RM-XXX Write your RM version in xxx , write your phone model replacing nokia x6]
Note RM-??? will be your country or region type

    11. left click "OK"
    12. your FIRMWARE FILES ARE SETUP AND LOADED READY FOR FLASHING BY JAF
    13. Turn Off Your Phone connect it to your pc.
    14. in the "Operations Box", left click on "FLASH"
[Then Click YES when a dialog appears like on the picture below]

    15. then Jaf will ask for turn on your phone click turn on [Now Just press the Power Button on your phone a little (just for about 1 second)]
    15. Wait for JAF to start flashing
    16. after flash complete your phone will auto start

It's that simple, you won't ever brick your phone if you do this way.

JAF install pack, everything you need download from here

If JAF doesn't find your phone, just add the following two lines to the end of the file jaf_nok4models.ini (normally found in C:\Program Files\ODEON\JAF\):

    like :
    [RM-559]
