MODES for Cooking Firmware

This Post is a collection of various
available system mods that CFW
makers can use in their CFW to
improve system performance and
modify system actions!!!

I have attached the files below. Read
explanations regarding each file to
know its use.
1. New Improved KS Mod.zip -
Improves Kinetic Scrooling to a great
extent and makes the phone faster
Location:

2. Bootscreen Mod.zip - Edit the
file to change stastup sound and
bootscreen image location
Location:

3. Cache Increase Mod.zip - Edit the
files to change cache size and more
Location:
rofs2\sys\data
4. Default Ringtone Mod.zip - Edit
the file to change the default ringtone
path and name
Location:
rofs2\Private\10202be9
5. Camera-Quality Mod.zip -
Improves Camera Quality a lot
Location:
rofs2\Private\10202be9
6. Camera-Sound Mod.zip - Mutes
the camera sound when the warning
tones in profiles are turned off

7. Starter.zip - Disables
auto startup of applications like clock,
messages, log etc (Saves RAM)

8. Landscape-HS Mod.zip - Enables
landscape in homescreen

9. Cache Drive Change Mod.zip -
Changes cache location from C: to E:

10. Menu Mod.zip - Adds
custom folder icons to menu (Folders
like Navigation, tools etc)

11. Gallery Mod.zip - Edit the
file to change what folders are
monitored by Gallery folders

12. Default Theme Mod.zip - Edit this
file to change the default theme
(sound waves) to any theme that gets
applied automatically
during a
hard reset

13. Custom version Mod.zip - Edit the
file to change the custom version
name of your CFW and even the date
installed

14. Folder Creations Mod.zip - Edit this
files and change commands as in
Windows Command Prompt to make
your 5800 automatically
create custom folders of
your choice in MMC and Phone
memory after a hard reset.

15. Rom Patcher Auto.zip - Put the
file in given location to make
RomPatcherLite in your CFW autostart.

16. Busy Circle Change.zip - Just
place in given location to have a new
busy circle over your running
applications in your menu.
(It's a tiny
blue black coloured curve instead of
the default booring green busy circle)

17. Zylam Marex Menu Mod.zip - Use
this mod to change your default menu
and folder icons.
Location:
Use as instructed in the zip file

this file to change user capabilities and
application installation settings

19. Stop Nokia SMS Mod.zip - Place
this file in given location to stop your
phone from automatically sending
SMS to Nokia after a
flash or
hard reset operation

20. All patches.zip - Contains
all available Rom Patcher patches for
Nokia 5800
I placed
this folder directly on Z drive. Rom
Patcher works perfectly fine and till
now I
faced
zero reboot problem!
21. MIF Maker.zip - Use this
tool to make MIF easily. Create your
own splashscreens and shutdown
screens

22. Hidden Menu Mod.zip -
Extra shortcuts in Menu: Connection
manager, Themes, Profiles
Location: rofs2/private/10202be9
23. Music Player Mod.zip -
Music player reads only E:/Music,
create the folder and place your music
files there!
Location: rofs2/private/10202be9
24. Java permision mod.zip -
Look into app manager/
installed/"your installed Java apps'/
options, see everything is always
allowed and no more anoying
notificatons!
Location: Use as directed in the ZIP file
25. Widget security disable Mod.zip -
Disable annoying widgets security
warnings
Location: Use as directed in the ZIP file
Place supplied files in given locations.
Whichever file needs editting edit
those your own way and place in
correct location.
I have also added nikia editor beta 0.7 to attachment below.

change the value "0x2 int 5000000 0
cap_rd=alwayspass
cap_wr=alwaysfail" in private
\10202BE9\101F8557.txt to different
value [u can experiment with it...]

Decrease appclose delay=-

change this value "<app_close_delay
delay = "4000000"/>" in private
\10202D56\sbeconfig.xml to something
different.....
flash again and again and experiment
with the 3 mods to get a stable one....

Change Bluetooth file transfer directory=-

There's a file "10204DAB.txt" in
Private\10202be9\
Change the value E:\received to
whatever u want.

Watch for 7th step in first post to prevent unnecessary startups at startup like log, clock and other events.

And to integrate nokia maps into z
u only got to extract all the files from
sis package of nokia maps using sis content.
after extracting u only got to do is to put extracted files to right path and repack ur rofs2 file and then flash

BRO I THINK IT IS UNNECSSARY TO PUT Nokia maps on z as nokia maps needs some setting and data files on c and e(mmc) drive
u may face some problems.
Anyway all the cfw released with nokia maps integrated into rom still hav some bugs.

I cant see the part where you can change startup screen (like connect-joint)
are they still using .mbm or .gif
coz the CFW i made, i didnt have startup screen but i was able to change my startup sound !
changed my fx too coz i think the slidespin was made especially for 5800 so am using dscobt fx coz it was mostly compatible with N97

But of course am still relying on ppl good at mods, which i'm not so trying to ck. DM threads.

About maps on Z: now i use one with maps on Z, and there were some problems, e.g. settings reseted after quit menu XD. But then I install Maps via PCSuit, on C:, run it, set it properly , and uninstall it from C:, all application settings remains after that. As i can see, Navigation works OK. (MB i dont notice some probls bcaus I seldom use Navigation , and only 4fun, but it builds the route, shows POIs ...) and + 16 Mb free on C:

i didnt tried my skills much but
i can do it now.

And the thing about bootscreen modes i hav added it in my fist post
watch for the attachment having bootscreen mode
in 2nd step bro...
only u got to put the file in zip in right location.
put ur startup sound in "z:\\data\\" as startup.mp3
and ur startup animation at "z:\\resource\\apps\\" as startup.gif

if u want to put other format file such as .mbm file then just edit file in zip
and change entry startup.gif to startup.mbm
put it in right path & replace original one.
then put ur own startup.mbm to
"z:\\resource\\apps\\"
repack ur rofs2
then flash
all done!!...
