See your location on the map, explore places around you - or anywhere in the world - and share them. Navigate to your destination with free Drive or Walk in 78 countries. Once you've arrived check in to a place and share it with your friends on your favourite social networks.



What's different from the previous release (v3.04)?

We have made a few major improvements to OviMaps in this release. These include:

* Visually refreshed main menu and icons,
* New maps with public transport lines (as a new map layer) for subways, trams and trains in 80+ cities around the world. Just click the map toolbox icon and select Transit lines,
* Improved search experience - find places and addresses around you - or anywhere in the world - fast and easily. Browse places or enter a keyword in the search box. Now with suggestions and "did you mean?" functionality,
* New place pages with description, reviews, pictures and places nearby. Interact with places in a whole new way - you can check in, contact, navigate, save, rate, share, report or see place on the map,
* Share a place - send a place to your friends via SMSor Email. The SMS contains the address and a link to the place page with description, ratings, contact, URL and a mini map. The link opens up on the mobile browser (also on non-Nokia devices),
* Check in - keep your friends up-to-date with where you are and what you're up to. Check in to places and share it with your friends on Facebook and many more social networks. See places you’ve been to in your check in history,
* New Drive assistance mode with live traffic flow - after clicking Drive, you're instantly in drive assistance mode with live traffic flow and more. Once you start moving, get safety camera alerts and speed limit warnings,
* More folder with many rich content services relevant to your location. Personalise your Ovi Maps by selecting the services you'd like to keep on your main menu for instant access.



Compatibility: Ovi Maps for mobile v3.06 is available on the following devices:

Symbian^3: e.g N8 (Coming soon!)
S60 5th Edition: N97, N97 mini, X6, C6-00, 5800XM, 5235, 5230 & 5230 Nuron

Please note that S60 3rd Edition, FP1 or FP2 devices (non-touch) are not supported in this release

Change log :
New map data: Ovi Maps v3.06 uses new and richer map data which includes public transit lines. During installation, your previous map data will be deleted. Please download the latest map data (after installing Ovi Maps v3.06) in order to use this release. This can be done using the following method:

PC users: Pre-loading your device with map data using Ovi Suite: Make sure that you run Ovi Maps v3.06 once and download a few bytes of map data (so that the relevant files are created on your device) and then exit Maps (this is really important). Download the latest version of Ovi Suite and save data costs and time. Preload maps for whole countries and voices for navigation on your Nokia GPS phone for free with your PC.

Please note that previous versions of Map Loader or Nokia Maps Updater will NOT work with Ovi Maps v3.06. Please use Ovi Suite instead.

Mac users: Hang in there! The team from Ovi Suite are working on it. Meanwhile you can use Ovi Maps online via WiFi or your operator network connection.

Well Romanian map is much happier now , it went from 22.5 megs to a whooping 38.5 megs . I really recommend this beta version .

On my N97 apears "unknown error -5" then "Installation finnishied" and when I go check the version of the ovi maps it says that is 3.04 ...
Any one have the same ? any help ?
